Frequently asked questions
What does reconstituting a peptide mean?
It means mixing the powdered (lyophilized) peptide in the vial with bacteriostatic water so it can be injected. The amount of water you add defines the concentration and therefore how many units you draw per dose.
How much bacteriostatic water should I add?
There's no single amount: more water means more diluted and more units for the same dose. What matters is always using the same amount for that vial and calculating from it. This calculator adapts to whatever amount you enter.
What do the syringe units mean?
On a U100 insulin syringe, 100 units equal 1 mL. The calculator converts your dose (in mg or mcg) into the units to draw based on your vial's concentration.
